We're looking for caring and reliable Support Workers to join our team in Shrewsbury (SY2), supporting three gentlemen aged between their 50s and 70s with learning disabilities. One gentleman also has epilepsy, which is managed through medication.
Support is provided on both a 1:1 and shared support basis, depending on the needs of the people we support.
The gentlemen you will support enjoy:
- Watching films
- Spending time with family
- Canal trips and outings
- Attending day opportunities
- Sharing jokes and enjoying a good sense of humour
All three gentlemen communicate without words. One person uses Makaton, and getting to know each person's communication style is an important and rewarding part of the role.
Support includes:
- Supporting people with their personal care
- Using hoists and specialist equipment for two people
- Supporting two wheelchair users
- Supporting people with eating and drinking
- Meal preparation
- Administering medication
- Supporting communication using Makaton and other individual communication methods
- Supporting people to do the things that matter to them
- Building positive relationships with families and colleagues
Waking Nights
- 10:00pm – 7:00am
- Every Sunday and Monday night
Additional hours may be available to support a full-time contract of up to 45 hours per week.

Experience is not essential — full training and ongoing support will be provided.
