Summary of the role: As a Business Analyst working within the Data office, you will provide business analysis services to a variety of data focused business projects. You will be involved in supporting the 'as-is' and 'to-be' processes and programs as the office grows. This will involve all aspects of the Data office initially, from technical change projects through to governance and data management initiatives. You will facilitate workshops and change initiatives, analyse business requirements, assess the impact of change, investigate options, develop and recommend potential solutions to support the business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Identify business requirements for change through consultation with business stakeholders.
  • Analyse existing business operations to produce As-Is process models.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to assess the impact of change and produce To-Be process models.
  • Apply analytical methods and techniques to assess and validate business solution options.
  • Interpret legislative and regulatory requirements and/or changes to assess the impact on business processes and system solutions.
  • Contribute to impact assessments and cost benefit analysis to inform project and/or business decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders and external vendors to gather technical and data related requirements, aligning solutions to business goals.
  • Facilitate programs by documenting and clarifying requirements as well as providing flow mapping.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Support prioritisation of technical backlogs related to Data initiatives to meet business goals.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven previous experience within a technical Business Analysis position.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confident communicating on 121 basis and with groups of stakeholders in workshops/meetings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, good fact-finding skills and ability to make evaluative judgments based on both quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Understands financial considerations and potential financial impacts of requirements and solutions options.
  • Understanding of agile principles and frameworks.
  • Experience of working in either Tech & change or data.
  • A systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of business analysis and information/data presentation techniques, including the standard MS software applications and Visio (desirable).
