Overview
We’re looking for a Reconciliations Team Leader to join the Finance Operations function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across our Life & Pensions portfolio. You’ll lead a team of five analysts, overseeing daily reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and month-end processes, while maintaining strong controls and compliance with regulatory standards.
Please note, as this is a people leadership role the successful applicant will be supported to succeed in their new role through enrolment in the appropriate level of our Diligenta Leadership \’Step\’ Pathway (subject to eligibility criteria), designed to drive quality and consistency across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 5 Reconciliation Analysts/Senior Analysts working on BaNCS.
- Plan team capacity and allocate tasks to meet SLAs and control timelines.
- Act as the escalation point for complex reconciliation issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Oversee completion of daily, weekly, and monthly control activities and reports.
- Conduct quality checks and provide feedback to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Develop team capability with structured training plans and accurate procedural documentation.
- Support audit readiness and ensure effective action plans are implemented where needed.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, driving efficiency and best practice.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of reconciliation processes, including attestations to the ledger.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical thinking with advanced MS Excel skills.
- Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and sound decision-making under pressure.
- Strong understanding of finance operations and Life & Pensions processes.
- 4+ years’ experience in financial services.
- Solid knowledge of reconciliations and ledger-related controls; BaNCS experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of financial regulations and control standards.
