About DigX

DigX is a specialist digital transformation consultancy delivering complex engineering, data, cloud, and automation solutions for organisations that need to modernise at pace. We partner with major enterprises, including FTSE 100 organisations, helping them turn technology into a catalyst for growth, resilience, and innovation.

As our consulting practice continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior/Principal Architect with a strong background in delivering technology transformations to play a key role in shaping and delivering high-impact transformation programmes for our clients.

The Opportunity

As a Senior/Principal Architect at DigX, you will sit at the heart of complex technology transformations – working across discovery, architecture, and delivery. You will lead solution design for discrete workstreams or small engagements, shape modern application architectures, and act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders. This is a hands-on consulting role with real accountability. You will balance client-facing advisory work with deep technical expertise, helping organisations modernise legacy systems, design cloud-native architectures, and deliver scalable, resilient solutions within the .NET ecosystem. You will also play an important role in pre-sales, supporting solution shaping and client bids, while contributing to the development of our engineering and architecture practice.

What You'll Do

  • Client & Consulting Leadership
    • Lead discovery workshops, architecture assessments, and technical design sessions.
    • Advise clients on modernisation strategies, architecture patterns, and technology choices.
    • Challenge assumptions and shape solution direction in complex environments.
    • Define business outcomes, technical vision, and high-level solution roadmaps.
    • Act as a trusted adviser to senior business and technology stakeholders.
    • Support pre-sales activities, including solution design, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Technical & Delivery Leadership
    • Own solution architecture for a workstream or project within larger programmes.
    • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions within the Microsoft and .NET ecosystem.
    • Align business requirements with technical architecture and delivery approaches.
    • Provide hands-on guidance across engineering teams to ensure architectural integrity.
    • Define and enforce best practices across design, development, and deployment.
    • Manage technical risks and ensure high-quality delivery outcomes.
    • Work across modern .NET technologies and patterns, including:
      • .NET (Core / .NET 6+), C#, ASP.NET Core
      • Microservices and distributed architectures
      • RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging (e.g. Service Bus, Kafka)
      • Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Kubernetes, etc.)
      • CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code
      • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
      • Modern front-end integration (e.g. Angular, React where relevant)
    • Team & Practice Development
      • Coach Consultants and Engineers, supporting both technical and consulting capability.
      • Provide clear, structured feedback to support growth and performance.
      • Contribute to practice capability through reusable assets, patterns, and frameworks.
      • Lead internal initiatives that improve engineering standards and delivery effectiveness.
      • Share knowledge and help build a strong architecture and engineering community.
    • Culture, Values & Commercialism
      • Embody DigX's consulting identity: professional, reliable, innovative, and outcome-focused.
      • Operate independently with clients, building trust through expertise and delivery.
      • Anticipate technical and delivery challenges and mitigate proactively.
      • Contribute to evolving ways of working and engineering best practices.
      • Identify follow-on opportunities and support business development activities.

    What You'll Bring

    • Strong background in software engineering with deep expertise in the .NET ecosystem.
    • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions using modern architectural patterns.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and cloud-native design.
    • Experience across legacy modernisation, platform transformation, or system integration programmes.
    • Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
    • Experience contributing to or leading pre-sales, discovery, and solution shaping activities.
    • Proven ability to lead workstreams, engage stakeholders, and deliver to a high standard.
    • A consulting mindset: clear communication, structured thinking, and focus on outcomes.
    • Experience in regulated industries such as Life & Pensions is beneficial, but not essential.
