You’ll be joining a supportive team that values you, trusts you and gives you the tools to lead confidently. This is a rewarding, fast‑paced role where you’ll help create a positive, engaging home environment and guide a team to deliver exceptional person‑centred care.

What the role involves:

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll combine hands‑on support with leadership responsibilities to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for adults with complex needs. This includes:

  • Leading shifts and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the home
  • Supporting adults with daily living, routines, community access, and independence goals
  • Guiding and motivating the team to deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Supporting care plans, risk assessments, medication, and record keeping
  • Working closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to maintain high standards
  • Providing guidance, support, and direction to Support Workers on shift

Working pattern:

This service operates 24/7. You will work any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and bank holidays where required. Flexibility is important, as the needs of the people we support can vary day to day. This role aligns with the ‘Supervisor or leader’ role category within the Care Workforce Pathway. With taking part in further courses, gaining the correct qualification and mentoring the support is available to progress to the next category. The natural progression route would be to the “Deputy Manager” category/role.

What we’re looking for:

We welcome applications from experienced Team Leaders, Senior Support Workers ready to step up, and strong care professionals with leadership potential. You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience supporting adults with complex needs
  • Previous senior, shift lead, or leadership experience in care
  • Confidence leading shifts and supporting team performance
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • A calm, resilient and person-centred approach
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding, care planning and risk management
  • Strong record keeping, medication, and auditing skills
  • A proactive attitude with the confidence to take ownership
  • A genuine passion for helping people and teams thrive

A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care is desirable, but not essential as full paid training and qualifications are provided. Dignus Group is a Disability Confident employer.
