About the Role
We’re looking for a Sales & Service Capability Specialist to design and deliver a company‑wide development framework that strengthens our Sales Through Service approach. This role blends design and delivery, supporting colleagues across Funeral Plans, Memorials and wider sales functions to build confidence, capability and consistency in how we serve families and customers. You’ll create practical frameworks, coaching tools and skills‑based learning that help managers and teams embed consultative, values‑led selling into everyday conversations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing a unified Sales & Service capability framework aligned to Dignity’s full product portfolio.
- Delivering virtual and face‑to‑face training regionally across the business.
- Creating sales coaching toolkits, conversation guides and observation rubrics for managers.
- Partnering with Operations to embed sales uplift behaviours into KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Developing scenario‑based practice, real‑play content and practical skill‑building sessions.
- Supporting induction by embedding strong consultative conversation skills early in the colleague journey.
What Success Looks Like
- Improved sales performance across Funeral Plans, Memorials and ancillary services.
- Stronger customer experience and reduced complaint themes.
- High manager adoption of coaching tools and frameworks.
- Increased use of the Sales Through Service model across all sales functions.
- Positive user experience and strong evaluation outcomes.
Who This Role Would Suit
- A credible sales capability professional who has designed and delivered sales or service development, not just run training sessions.
- Someone who believes in consultative, values‑led selling, balancing commercial outcomes with empathy and trust.
- A practitioner who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, equipping them with tools and frameworks rather than owning sales targets directly.
- Someone who thrives in a hybrid design‑and‑delivery role, confident creating content and facilitating sessions both virtually and in person.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in sales capability, service capability or L&D‑led sales training.
- Experience in regulated or customer‑sensitive sectors such as financial services, insurance, healthcare or utilities.
- Proven ability to design sales or service frameworks and structured approaches to consultative selling.
- Strong facilitation skills across virtual and face‑to‑face environments.
- Hands‑on coaching experience and confidence observing performance and giving feedback.
- Comfort working with performance data, KPIs and behavioural indicators to support capability uplift.
Why Join Us?
This is a chance to shape how sales and service capability is delivered across Dignity. You’ll influence behaviours, build confidence across our sales functions and help colleagues deliver meaningful, sensitive and commercially strong customer conversations.
What We Offer
- Annual salary package up to £43,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
- BUPA Healthcare.
- Company pension, life assurance, and employee assistance programme.
- Annual company bonus.
