Behind that service excellence sits a complex technology landscape – and we’re now looking for a Head of Business Systems to lead, modernise and optimise the platforms that underpin our organisation. This is a senior leadership role with real scope: you’ll own the strategy, stability and evolution of our enterprise and line‑of‑business systems, leading high‑performing teams and working closely with Finance, HR, Operations and Commercial colleagues to deliver measurable business value.
What you'll be responsible for
- Enterprise systems leadership – setting the strategy, roadmap and operating model for Business Systems, ensuring predictable delivery, strong governance and continuous improvement.
- Finance systems ownership – accountable for Oracle E‑Business Suite, partnering with Finance to improve controls, reporting, automation and audit readiness.
- HR systems – owning and enhancing HR platforms to simplify processes and ensure high‑quality people data across the organisation.
- CRM transformation – leading the delivery and adoption of a new CRM solution, from implementation and integration through to benefits realisation.
- Specialist operational systems – owning and improving funeral and crematoria line‑of‑business platforms that support front‑line operations and customer journeys.
- Integration, data and reporting – driving a coherent integration strategy, improving data quality and enabling consistent operational and financial insight.
- Service, risk and vendor management – ensuring robust application support, effective supplier performance and strong compliance with regulatory and data protection requirements.
You’ll lead a multi‑disciplinary function including software development, data engineering and business analysis, creating a culture focused on service excellence, delivery discipline and pragmatic innovation.
What we’re looking for
- Has significant experience leading enterprise applications or business systems functions, including people leadership.
- Brings hands‑on understanding of Oracle E‑Business Suite in a finance context.
- Has delivered and embedded CRM platforms, including migration, integration and user adoption.
- Has experience improving HR systems (HRIS) in partnership with HR teams.
- Is confident operating in regulated, customer‑facing environments and managing risk, controls and governance.
- Is commercially minded, outcome‑focused and comfortable balancing strategic vision with hands‑on delivery.
- Thrives in complex, cross‑functional environments and builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
