This is a high-impact, strategic leadership position with full ownership of property, fleet and procurement performance across the Group. You will lead the direction, investment and ongoing management of a diverse estate including funeral homes, care centres, crematoria and corporate sites, alongside a large operational fleet. You will operate as the single accountable owner for property and fleet strategy, making informed, commercially driven decisions on investment, risk, compliance and long-term value, while partnering closely with Operations and the Executive team.

- Leading the management and optimisation of a large, multi-site estate and operational fleet.
- Driving compliance, health & safety and regulatory standards across all locations and assets.
- Owning capital investment decisions, including refurbishments, disposals and estate optimisation.
- Ensuring operational efficiency through effective maintenance, supplier management and asset utilisation.
- Leading commercial negotiations and procurement strategy to drive value and long-term partnerships.
- Managing enterprise risk across estate and fleet, balancing cost, service continuity and long-term benefit.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to ELT, presenting on performance, strategy and investment decisions.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing a large, multi-site property estate in an operational or customer-facing environment.
- Strong track record delivering transformation, refurbishments or estate optimisation programmes.
- Experience owning and influencing high-value investment decisions and business cases.
- Deep understanding of compliance, health & safety and regulatory environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, risk and operational impact.
- The confidence to operate at Executive and Board level, influencing and owning decisions.
- A leadership style that builds high-performing, service-focused teams.
Why join us:
You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment. We’ve reshaped our estate, invested in our future and are building a more modern, efficient and customer-focused organisation. This role offers the opportunity to:
- Shape and lead national infrastructure strategy.
- Drive meaningful change across a unique and purpose-led organisation.
- Own decisions with real commercial and operational impact.
- Be part of a values-led business supporting customers at the most important moments in life.
Other benefits: £6,000 car allowance, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, 10% annual company bonus, 4x life assurance, pension scheme, private healthcare, and hybrid flexible working.
