Purpose of the Role: This role blends core administrative ownership with foundational legal-process tasks. The Probate Case Handler supports both admin and legal case teams by taking ownership of case-adjacent administrative tasks alongside early legal-process work-including will-checking, backlog clearance, early drafting, and institution correspondence-to ensure swift progression of the probate pipeline . Performance Measures: Pipeline Progress & Turnarounds: Efficient clearance of backlogs, timely will-checks, and proactive chasing of financial institutions to advance cases. Accuracy & Documentation: High accuracy in drafting initial letters of authority, notices of power, and administrative closure documentation. Procedural Compliance: Adherence to KYC/AML protocols and operational SLAs under supervision . Key Responsibilities: Will-Checking & Backlog Clearance: Conduct initial checks on original wills and process backlog items across active cases. Legal Drafting & Notices: Draft letters of authority, notices of power, and foundational legal correspondence for institutions. Institution Correspondence: Prepare initial asset and liability letters to banks/institutions and systematically follow up on outstanding responses.
