Dignity and Farewill have come together to build the UK's most comprehensive end-of-life legal services platform, combining Farewill's award-winning digital services with Dignity's nationwide network, trusted brand, and millions of existing customer relationships. The result is a business with extraordinary reach, a powerful mission and serious commercial momentum.
The Opportunity
As MD of Legal Services, you will own the strategy, P&L and performance of our combined legal services business – a platform spanning probate, wills, lasting power of attorney and funeral planning, with strong existing charity partnerships and a rapidly growing digital proposition. The legal services market in the UK is large, underserved and ripe for disruption. We've already built the foundations. Now we need the right leader to accelerate growth, expand partnerships, launch new products and establish ourselves as the clear category winner.
What You'll Do
- Own the Legal Services P&L and drive ambitious, sustained revenue and profit growth – setting the commercial agenda and holding the business to it.
- Scale our probate, wills, and LPA – launching new digital products, improving customer journeys and outpacing the competition.
- Build and deepen strategic partnerships with charities, commercial organisations and digital platforms – unlocking new routes to market and boosting legacy fundraising at scale.
- Lead and inspire high-performing, cross-functional teams across legal, commercial, product and operations – setting the culture, standards and pace.
- Ensure robust compliance with FCA and SRA requirements while building a business that scales with confidence and rigour.
- Represent the business externally – with regulators, industry bodies and strategic partners – building our reputation and influence in the market.
What We're Looking For
- A proven senior executive with full P&L accountability and a track-record of scaling high-growth, customer-facing businesses – as Managing Director, COO or equivalent.
- Commercially hungry and results-driven. You set ambitious targets, hold your teams to them and thrive in environments where performance is visible and expectations are high.
- Legally trained – a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with experience across probate, wills and LPAs and a clear understanding of regulated environments (FCA/SRA) is desirable. Or experience of managing services / working in a service organisation.
- Digitally savvy and data-driven – comfortable building and scaling consumer-facing digital products and using insight to drive decisions at pace.
- A natural partnership builder – with a track record of forging strategic relationships, particularly in the charity and philanthropic sectors.
- An inspiring communicator and leader who builds strong teams, sets a high bar and brings people with them on a demanding journey.
- Genuinely excited by the next couple of years. This is a growth story in full flight – it will require energy, resilience and a real appetite for pace.
