At Dignity, we're redefining what it means to support families at life's most important moments. Behind that ambition sits a People function that is evolving, simplifying processes, modernising technology, improving colleague experience and building the foundations to support future growth. We're now looking for an HR Services Manager to support this transformation. This is an opportunity to shape how HR supports every stage of the colleague journey, bringing together HR systems, payroll, people data, HR administration and continuous improvement into one high-performing, modern, customer-focused service.

If you thrive on simplifying complexity, improving service delivery, leveraging technology and leading teams through change, this could be your next career step.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief People and Transformation Officer, you will sit on the People Leadership Team. You'll lead a team responsible for HR systems, administration, analytics and service delivery whilst ensuring the function is scalable, efficient and fit for future growth.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering the HR Services strategy.
  • Modernising HR operations through automation, workflow improvements and self-service.
  • Creating simple, scalable and highly effective employee and manager experiences.
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes, systems and service delivery.
  • Leading HR administration, HR systems and people analytics.
  • Using data and insight to improve decision-making and business performance.
  • Building a service culture focused on responsiveness, quality and accountability.

Why this role is different

As we modernise the business, the HR Services function must evolve too. You'll own the roadmap for HR Services technology, automation and service delivery improvement, removing friction from colleague processes and ensuring managers have the tools, systems and support they need to succeed. This role offers genuine influence, visibility and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on how HR operates across a national organisation.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a specialist who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and can bring:

  • Significant leadership experience across HR Operations, HR Shared Services or People Services.
  • Accountability for HR systems, service delivery and operational performance.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, process simplification and automation.
  • A track record of building service-focused teams and embedding accountability.
  • Strong HR systems and HRIS expertise, including self-service and workflow technologies.
  • The ability to use data and insight to identify problems, influence decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across HR, Finance, IT and business leadership teams.

You'll be someone who:

  • Loves making complex processes simpler.
  • Sees technology as an enabler, not just a system.
  • Builds trust quickly and leads with clarity.
  • Balances strategic thinking with strong operational delivery.
  • Is passionate about creating a great colleague experience whilst improving efficiency, control and service quality.
  • Uses data and insight to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful improvement.
  • Thrives in evolving environments and brings pace, pragmatism and accountability.

Rewarding leadership with real impact and progression

As a key contributor to our business, you'll benefit from a package that reflects your impact, supports your wellbeing and helps you continue to grow your career with us.

  • Time to recharge - 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, giving you the space to rest and maintain balance.
  • Rewarding your impact - Opportunity to earn up to 10% annual bonus, recognising your contribution to business performance.
