We are seeking a dedicated Crematorium Assistant to join our team at Lichfield Crematorium, where you will play a vital role in maintaining our crematorium grounds and memorial areas to the highest standards.

The Role
As a Crematorium Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the crematorium grounds, gardens, and memorial areas are maintained to a high standard. You will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional care and presentation across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out seasonal gardening and landscaping, including mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, and hedge cutting.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of paths, lawns, memorial plots, and landscaped areas.
- Conduct routine checks and light maintenance of grounds equipment.
- Support with leaf clearance, snow and ice control, and seasonal planting displays.
- Maintain memorial areas with care and attention to detail.
- Assist families with basic memorial enquiries when required.
- Work collaboratively with the site team, supporting other duties when needed.
- Follow health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in groundskeeping, horticulture, or outdoor maintenance.
- Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-presented environment.
- Is comfortable with being trained to operate the Cremator and undertake duties when required.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively.
- Understands the sensitivity of working in a memorial setting.
- Has a driving license (desirable).
