We're looking for an empathetic and well-organised individual to join our team at J C Clarke Funeral Directors as a Funeral Service Arranger. You'll be the first person families speak to, offering reassurance and support while ensuring every detail is handled with care and professionalism.
Based at our branch in Cheshire you'll take pride in the day-to-day running of the branch - supporting families, ensuring high standards, and building trusted local relationships. With the aim of becoming the arranger of choice in your community, you'll also be trained to provide guidance on Funeral Plans and support with ceremonial duties when required.

The Role
This role calls for empathy, confidence, and attention to detail. It's about guiding people through funeral arrangements with care, introducing them to the support we can offer, and ensuring every detail is right. You will be a steady, professional hand when people need it most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and support the Funeral Service Specialist Level 1 in handling arrangements and customer care - including mentoring and training.
- Support with arranging funerals that meet family wishes, cultural practices, and legal requirements - arranging funerals with clarity, compassion and precision, offering all relevant products.
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including administration and presentation.
- Act as the senior point of contact in the absence of the Cluster Manager or Senior Funeral Director.
- Lead in building and growing relationships with care homes, hospices, GPs and local groups.
- Take accountability for raising awareness of funeral plans and contributing to plan sales within the branch.
- Represent the branch in the local community and contribute to outreach - attend community events and memorial services.
- Uphold Dignity's standards of professionalism, care, and service.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Brings compassion, calm, and empathy to emotionally sensitive situations.
- Has strong communication, organisation, and administrative skills - confident with legal paperwork.
- Has knowledge and awareness of funeral processes including regulatory and cultural.
- Is confident working independently, with branch-level responsibility.
- Has experience within a team leader or managerial role.
- Is comfortable in settings where the deceased may be resting, including chapel visits.
- Willingness to work flexibly (including weekends/on-call if needed).
- Holds a Full UK Driving Licence (desirable, not essential) - Ability to travel to client homes and local branches is important.
- Is resilient, able to deal with complex situations and remain calm under pressure.
