Due to several significant and successful tenders within the Energy sector, a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor offers an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join their leadership team. This is a strategic role, expected to form part of the organisation’s succession plan to become Divisional Commercial Director in five years.

Role

The Commercial Manager will lead a Quantity Surveying team responsible for the successful delivery of a portfolio valued at £60 M per annum, focusing on sub‑station builds and major cable routing projects across the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead a commercial team across a series of projects throughout London, developing and managing the commercial strategy.
• Supervise project cash flow and oversee submission of interim applications.
• Supervise the preparation of final accounts.
• Effectively manage risk and opportunities.
• Provide contractual, financial and commercial advice to the project team.
• Check all contract arrangements with the client and subcontractors.
• Draft contract documents and prepare necessary commercial reports.
• Oversee reporting on the project’s financial position, including monthly cost‑value reconciliations and forecasting.

Experience and Skills Required

• Previous experience on NEC projects.
• Previous employment with a large Tier 1 contractor.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
