About The Role
We are recruiting experienced Site Managers / Senior Site Supervisors to join our growing delivery team in Newport, South Wales. This role is ideal for a hands-on Site Manager with a strong background in utilities and civil engineering projects, including trenching, deep excavations, and reinforced concrete works. You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with CDM regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Managing direct labour and subcontractors on site
- Implementing and maintaining CDM 2015 compliance
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
- Carrying out health & safety inspections and audits
- Reviewing, amending, and approving Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS)
- Issuing permits to work, including permits to dig
- Coordinating plant and materials hire/off-hire
- Maintaining accurate site diaries and records
- Overseeing safe delivery of works including:
- Trenching and deep excavations
- Reinforced concrete (RC) works
- Duct installation and cable pulling
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Supervisor
- Background in Utilities, Power, Water, Gas, Highways, or Civil Engineering
- Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and CDM requirements
- Experience managing complex groundworks and utility installations
- SMSTS certification (essential)
- Full, valid UK driving licence (travel between sites required)
