About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a new member of staff to the team in our busy Children’s Outpatients Department.

The successful applicant will need to be motivated, calm under pressure, and possess good organisational and computer skills. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

The role involves reception duties, such as using our computerised booking system to register patients and administrative tasks related to preparing the department for clinics.

Experience with children and adaptability to a changing environment are essential.

The home base for this position is Tinkerbell, but staff may be asked to support other paediatric areas as needed.

Main duties of the job:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Paediatric Outpatients Department and other children’s clinics under supervision.
  • Perform clerical, reception, and administrative duties using the Trust’s EPR system after appropriate training and assessment.
  • Assist in clinic preparation to ensure all necessary information is available for consultations.
  • Ensure clinics are properly closed and all referrals and appointments are scheduled.
  • Perform clinical duties such as blood pressure monitoring and phlebotomy for children, following training and competency assessment.
