About the Job:
The role involves maintaining effective relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team, Trust, and other statutory and voluntary organisations. The Health Care Assistant (HCA) will work under the supervision of a qualified nurse or clinician, delivering planned care to service users as identified by the nominated professional. Responsibilities include assisting qualified staff in monitoring patients\’ health (such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight, drug and alcohol screening after appropriate training), and supporting senior staff in planning and delivering therapeutic and social activities for patients. The HCA will also maintain effective relationships with patients, their relatives, and other carers.
The Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS) collaborates across health, care, community, and voluntary sectors. An example of this collaboration is the HCA Academy, an ICS initiative between Essex Partnership University Hospital Trust (EPUT) and Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT). The successful candidate will attend a one-week face-to-face induction at the MSE ICB Education Hub at Brentwood Community Hospital, followed by a five-day mandatory training induction at EPUT, which may be delivered face-to-face or virtually.
