Main duties of the job
To conduct phlebotomy and Health Care Assistant clinics in line with Practice Policies and Procedures
- Conduct comprehensive patient medical and family histories to assist clinical decision-making
- Conduct Urinalysis
- Stock management
- Perform blood sample collection through venipuncture for laboratory analysis
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and height
- Assist in the delivery of immunisation programs, including seasonal flu vaccinations
- Administer intramuscular B12 injections
- Wound dressings
- Aid in chronic disease management, including chronic disease reviews, contributing to QOF achievement
- Undertake health assessments and screening procedures
- Assess risks related to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and kidney function, using established guidelines
Patient Engagement and Administrative Duties
- Identify patients eligible for health screening and proactively invite them
- Handle patient communications with professionalism, always ensuring confidentiality
