We are looking for a Senior Engineer I who is passionate about Kubernetes and excited about the opportunity to take our managed Kubernetes solution (DOKS) to the next level. As a Senior Engineer I at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing and AI. This role is on the DOKS team that is in charge of DigitalOcean's managed Kubernetes offering.
What You’ll Do
- Develop the DigitalOcean Managed Kubernetes product.
- Contribute to our growing GPU offering to support scalable inference workloads at DigitalOcean.
- Develop back-end gRPC services written in Go deployed on Kubernetes.
- Design back-end services and author engineering design documents.
- Raise the bar for Operational Excellence.
- Independently lead projects.
- Navigate the complexity of distributed systems and operate them in production.
- Break the design documents into actionable epics and stories with estimates.
- Run experiments to optimize user experience and increase adoption of DOKS.
- Contribute to and maintain open-source projects, and collaborate with our developer community through customer meetings, blogs, and podcasts.
- Find emerging tools, trends, and methodologies and show your team how to integrate them against existing systems and processes.
- Regularly interact with important customers to understand their needs in the product.
- Contribute meaningfully to discussions on architecture, implementation, design patterns, and processes while being able to succinctly convey ideas to peers and mentees.
- Work on teams that operate across multiple time zones.

Compensation Range
$139,200 - $174,000*
