Senior SEO Editor

Digitalbox is one of the UK\’s most dynamic and fastest-growing mobile-first publishers of entertainment news and satire sites. Its brands include Entertainment Daily, TVGuide.co.uk, The Daily Mash, The Tab and The Poke.

As we further expand the business portfolio through launches and acquisitions, we are looking for a gifted and driven Senior SEO Editor – with demonstrable experience and proven results on similar websites – to join our ED! Group, working across key TV and Soap sites.

The role: Digitalbox Publishing is looking for a talented and self-motivated individual to help lead the development of some of its key entertainment news sites\’ SEO strategies.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate results within a similar role, held for a minimum of three years.

Daily responsibilities:

• Help grow organic search, Discover and Google News on ED! Group\’s TV and Soap sites
• Agree the SEO strategies – news and evergreen – with the site Editors and group\’s Editor-in-Chief
• Lead on SEO best practice, ensuring all writers and editors are trained in on-page optimisation and informed of any updates
• Deliver and drive a group-wide Discover strategy, with full analysis of headlines, images and article styles
• Lead on daily content suggestions targeting Google traffic sources and liaise with the teams on breaking news
• Monitor algorithm changes and developments, feeding updates across the teams
• Contribute content ideas to the forward planning sessions
• Analyse and report back on traffic, from Top Stories wins to ranking drops
• Analyse competitor performance and identify opportunities to improve and overtake on key Google targets
• Strong understanding of both daily TV & Soap news trends, and evergreen/long-term performance
• Conceiving and implementing strategies & tactics to help Google traffic growth
• Solid understanding of SEO tools and how to use them to inform content improvements and expansion
• Excellent research, writing and copy editing
• Picture editing and graphic design
• Ability to juggle and prioritise tasks in a breaking news environment
• Some technical SEO knowledge with a drive to learn more – and be the primary Editorial contact with the Tech team
