Job Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in capital markets, with a significant portion spent in or selling directly into banking institutions (investment banks, custodian banks, prime brokers).
- Demonstrated track record of building and managing C‑level and senior executive relationships at major financial institutions.
- Deep knowledge of capital markets operations and the banking value chain, including:
- Securities services, custody, and asset servicing
- Repo, securities lending, and collateral management
- Post‑trade processing, clearing, and settlement (including the roles of CCPs, CSDs, and custodians)
- Treasury operations, cash management, and liquidity optimization
- Digital asset strategy and tokenization initiatives within banks
- Experience with network, platform, or ecosystem‑driven sales motions, where value accrues through participation and connectivity rather than standalone license sales.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting on‑chain assets in banking (SEC, OCC, Basel frameworks, ISDA documentation for digital assets).
- Ability to translate complex technology propositions into business‑outcome‑driven conversations tailored to banking audiences.
- Existing network of senior contacts within the US banking and securities services industry.
Preferred
- Direct experience at a global investment bank, custodian, or market infrastructure provider (DTCC, Euroclear, CLS, etc.).
- Working knowledge of blockchain technology, DLT, and tokenization, particularly as applied to institutional finance.
- Familiarity with Canton Network, Daml, or the broader institutional DeFi ecosystem.
- Experience selling into or alongside financial market infrastructure organizations.
- Track record of quota attainment in complex, long‑cycle enterprise or network sales with deal sizes in excess of $1M.
Job Responsibilities
- Network Sales & Market Development
- Drive Canton Network adoption across Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks, custodians, and broker‑dealers in the Americas, building a pipeline of institutional participants joining the network.
- Execute a network sales motion, articulating the value of joining a shared, interoperable infrastructure rather than buying standalone software.
- Position Canton as essential rails for the next generation of capital markets.
- Develop and deliver a compelling institutional thesis for each target bank, grounded in their specific business priorities (e.g., collateral optimization, repo financing, treasury management, tokenized fund distribution, digital custody).
- Identify and cultivate opportunities across multiple bank business lines: securities services, prime brokerage, treasury, global markets, and digital assets, to drive multi‑product network adoption.
- Senior Relationship Management
- Own and develop C‑suite and senior executive relationships at target institutions (CTO, COO, Head of Digital Assets, Head of Securities Services, Head of Markets Technology).
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to banking clients, bridging the gap between their existing infrastructure and the opportunities unlocked by on‑chain, privacy‑enabled settlement and synchronization.
- Navigate complex, multi‑stakeholder decision processes within global banks, engaging technology, business, legal, compliance, and operations teams across geographies.
- Represent Digital Asset and the Canton Network at senior industry forums, working groups, and bilateral executive engagements.
- Sales Delivery & Strategic Execution
- Deliver against sales targets and quota, with accountability for both new network participation and expansion of existing banking relationships.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Solutions teams to shape Canton’s roadmap based on direct banking client feedback and market needs.
- Partner with Marketing and Ecosystem teams on industry‑specific go‑to‑market strategies, thought leadership, and Canton Foundation engagement.
- Provide market intelligence on competitive landscape, regulatory developments, and institutional blockchain adoption trends to inform company strategy.
