We’re seeking a Senior Test Engineer who can strengthen quality across multiple digital products, from web applications to enterprise platforms. This role suits someone who understands modern quality practices, and knows when manual testing adds the most value.

Location: Manchester/Hybrid

Salary: £40-£45k

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Improve regression coverage to support fast, confident releases
  • Shape and refine testing standards across delivery teams
  • Work with engineering, product, and design to define testable requirements and surface risks early
  • Perform targeted manual and exploratory testing where automation isn’t suitable
  • Provide clear, risk‑based insights for release decisions
  • Apply security awareness (including OWASP) and support lightweight threat‑modelling
  • Identify accessibility issues and test against WCAG guidelines

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years in software testing experience
  • Hands‑on automation across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Experience testing web apps, SaaS platforms, and client‑facing digital products
  • Practical performance testing experience
  • Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, and REST Assured
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with CI pipelines (e.g., GitLab)
  • Solid understanding of risk‑based testing and modern quality engineering
  • Working knowledge of security testing and accessibility standards
