A growing media, events and publishing business is looking for an Interim Operations Consultant to support a business-wide operational improvement programme. This is a hands-on contract role focused on helping the leadership team build the foundations for future growth. You'll assess current ways of working, identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable processes, governance frameworks and accountability structures across the business.
Role: Interim Operations Consultant
Day Rate: £300 per day
Contract Length: 3-4 months
Location: Milton Keynes, 2 days per week onsite (3 days remote)
Start: ASAP
Responsibilities:
- Review existing operational processes, workflows and governance structures
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and key-person dependencies across the business
- Improve accountability, ownership and cross-functional collaboration
- Design and implement scalable operational frameworks to support future growth
- Review and optimise client onboarding processes and customer journey workflows
- Develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation
- Establish governance structures and reporting mechanisms to improve visibility and decision making
- Support leadership teams with operational planning and change management initiatives
- Drive implementation of recommendations rather than simply producing reports
Qualifications:
- Proven experience within Operations Consulting, Business Transformation, Operational Excellence or Process Improvement roles
- Strong track record helping growing businesses scale operationally
- Experience designing and implementing SOPs, governance frameworks and operational processes
- Ability to quickly assess operational challenges and prioritise improvement opportunities
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working closely with senior leadership teams
- Experience improving customer onboarding, service delivery or operational workflows
- Highly practical approach with the ability to balance strategy and hands-on delivery
- Comfortable working across multiple teams and business functions
