A fast-growing, VC-backed technology business is hiring a Finance Director to take ownership of the finance function as the company moves through its next stage of growth. This is a senior role for someone who has operated in early-stage or scale-up environments and understands the financial realities of growing a business from zero to one. You will work closely with founders and senior leadership, helping shape financial strategy, manage investor relationships and put robust financial controls in place to support continued expansion.
Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid, Birmingham (City Centre) or London (Moorgate). 2 days per week onsite.
What you will be doing:
- Owning the finance function end to end, including reporting, forecasting and budgeting
- Supporting the business through early-stage growth and scale-up phases
- Leading financial planning, cash flow management and runway forecasting
- Working closely with founders and leadership on strategic decision making
- Supporting fundraising activity, investor reporting and due diligence processes
- Implementing scalable financial controls, systems and processes
- Overseeing statutory reporting, compliance and audit requirements
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the business
What you will need:
- Proven experience in a Finance Director or senior finance role within a startup or scale-up
- Demonstrable experience supporting businesses from zero to one
- Strong understanding of fundraising, investor relations and growth-stage finance
- Ability to operate hands-on while also thinking strategically
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar qualification preferred
