About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Group IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and develop a high-performing IT team supporting over 300 users across multiple sites. This is an exciting opportunity to drive strategic IT initiatives, manage infrastructure operations, and deliver impactful projects that shape the organisation's technology landscape.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Networking: CCNA-level knowledge, Cisco, Fortinet, Rukus, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls.
- Hardware & Infrastructure: Servers, SAN/NAS storage, cabling, wireless networks, monitoring tools.
- Microsoft Technologies: Windows Server (2012–2025), Exchange Online, Azure AD, Intune/JAMF, Office 365.
- Virtualization & Cloud: VMware, Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud.
- Backup & DR: Veeam, replication/failover solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Firewalls, endpoint protection, ISO 27001, GDPR, SIEM (Splunk, Sentinel).
- Operating Systems & Tools: Linux administration, PowerShell/Bash/Python scripting, ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Fresh Service).
- Certifications: Essential: MCSE, ITIL, CCNA or equivalent; Desirable: CISSP or CompTIA Security+, ISO27001 experience, PRINCE2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative, service-focused culture. Work with departments to understand IT needs and provide proactive solutions. Offer IT expertise in management meetings to support organisational goals.
- Infrastructure & Operations Management: Oversee daily IT operations, including servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure. Coordinate installations, upgrades, and maintenance of technology systems. Manage procurement and implementation of hardware and software. Ensure systems run smoothly through testing, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.
- WAN Infrastructure & Security: Maintain reliable WAN connectivity across all sites. Implement security measures and proactively address vulnerabilities.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup procedures. Regularly test Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) across sites.
- Project Management: Lead large-scale infrastructure projects, including deployments, upgrades, and migrations. Align IT infrastructure plans with software and organisational roadmaps. Deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage annual IT budgets and ensure resources are used cost-effectively. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring SLA compliance.
- Technology & Innovation: Stay up to date with technology trends and best practices. Recommend and implement innovations to improve IT operations.
