A well-established ecommerce retailer is hiring a Senior Product Owner to own a key product vertical end to end and help raise the bar for Product Ownership across the wider Digital Product team. This is a dual-mandate role. You'll take full ownership of the Browse vertical, from customer problem through to measurable commercial outcome, while acting as a hands-on coach and role model for less experienced Product Owners as the business builds out its capability. It's central to a broader shift already underway, moving the organisation from project-based, waterfall delivery towards a genuine Product Operating Model.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own the vision, roadmap and outcomes for the Browse vertical, tightly connected to wider digital product strategy and commercial goals.
  • Make senior-level trade-off calls across a growing roadmap, balancing tactical fixes against strategic bets.
  • Use discovery, A/B testing and qualitative and quantitative data to validate hypotheses and reduce delivery risk.
  • Define what success looks like and track the commercial metrics that connect vertical performance to the wider North Star.
  • Run backlog refinement, articulate requirements clearly, and keep the team focused against scope creep and competing demands.
  • Define and embed lightweight, fit-for-purpose ceremonies, artefacts and standards in a business still maturing its agile practice.
  • Coach and mentor junior and mid-level Product Owners across discovery, backlog management, stakeholder engagement and storytelling.
  • Help establish and sustain a Product Owner community of practice, with shared tools, templates and playbooks.
  • Act as a visible champion for the move to a Product Operating Model, bringing sceptical stakeholders along with you.
  • Partner with UX/UI, engineering, ADLs, business analysts, data analysts and senior stakeholders to deliver against key OKRs.
  • Manage and grow relationships with third-party partners (e.g. Search & Discovery, PxM).

What you'll need:

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally within a digital retail or ecommerce environment.
  • Confident interpreting user behaviour and commercial performance data to make decisions at pace.
  • Strong communicator with experience preparing and leading workshops, and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Skilled at managing conflict or resistance to keep focus on high-value outcomes.
  • Track record of establishing strong working partnerships across a business and using them to drive change.
  • People management or hands-on mentoring experience, developing others to reach their potential.
  • Resilient, organised and proactive with a genuine 'can-do' approach.

Nice to have:

  • Experience leading or supporting a cross-functional product team.
  • A clear test-and-learn mentality with a desire to constantly improve.
  • Exposure to strategy work such as vision definition or objective setting.
  • Experience preparing, executing or analysing user research.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and ceremonies.

This role would suit a senior Product Owner who wants both real ownership of a commercially significant vertical and the chance to shape how Product Ownership matures across a growing team.
