Expanding practice based in Bedford currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant. The candidate will ideally have at least 5 years experience in practice and be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified. This is a mixed role focusing on tax and accounts for SME clients. The role also has scope to progress within the practice to practice manager duties and assist the director with overseeing the practice.
Responsibilities
- Preparation/review of statutory accounts to completion for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Managing portfolio of clients.
- Overseeing junior/semi senior accountants and monitoring progression.
- Review of VAT returns.
- Preparation of corporation tax returns.
- Preparation of self‑assessment returns.
- Tax advisory to companies (FRS105 and 102) and individuals.
- Technical statutory knowledge FRS102 essential.
- Respond to and deal with client queries.
- Potential to assist with overseeing practice.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years practice experience.
- Excellent verbal, written and punctuation skills.
- Qualified accountant by official qualification or qualified by experience.
- Experience using IRIS (ideal but not essential).
- Experience using Xero and other bookkeeping packages (ideal).
