Digital Speed is a full-service product and engineering agency delivering strategy, design, and development for global clients. Our expertise spans Brand, Discovery, UX/UI, and Full-Stack Engineering, alongside product strategy and marketing. We partner with organisations in finance, automotive, sport, and technology to ship dependable, high-quality outcomes at scale.

We are driven by 4 key values:

  • Open – We arrive with options, welcome feedback, and find the best way forward together.
  • Thriving – New challenges energise us; we learn and improve as a team.
  • Experts – Specialists who care about their craft and deliver results with structure.
  • Caring – We take our clients' goals as seriously as our own and build trusted relationships.

The Role

You will join as the second hire in our growing design team in London, and will work closely alongside agency leadership to produce impressive brands and product design. Being part of our foundational team means taking a lot of responsibility, and you will need to be able to work on more than one project at once, and thrive on the diversity of work that agency life provides.

What you'll do:

  • Define and evolve design direction: Define and evolve the UI and UX design direction for digital products across our client's web, mobile, SaaS products, and marketing platforms.
  • Translate requirements into experiences: Work directly with our clients to translate their product goals and complex requirements into intuitive, engaging user experiences.
  • Iterate through research: Work closely with your team to iterate on and improve designs through user research, testing, and analysis of usage data.
  • UI Design: Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and pixel-perfect high-fidelity UI designs within set timelines. Building, contributing to and maintaining design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides as required.
  • Brand Design: Design brands from scratch or refreshing existing brands. Suggesting logotypes, typography, colour palettes and creating brand guideline documents.
  • UX Design: Understand personas, ideate solutions to known pain-points, or how to complete a Job To Be Done, plot user journeys, and empathise with the end-user.
  • Ensure accessibility and responsiveness: Ensure designs are responsive, accessible, and optimised across devices and user contexts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, marketers, and data teams to implement solutions that balance user and business needs.
  • Present and communicate: Clearly and confidently present your work internally and to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and decisions, and openly welcoming critical feedback to get to the best result.
  • Work in agile environments: Collaborate in agile, iterative environments as part of cross-functional teams.
  • Advocate for best practices: Establish and advocate for design best practices and scalable workflows.

What you'll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design for digital products across web and mobile. Demonstrated experience designing SaaS platforms and customer-facing tools.
  • Portfolio showcasing expertise across user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and final polished interfaces.
  • Proficient in Figma and other design/prototyping tools such as Sketch and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong grasp of typography, visual hierarchy, layout, and colour theory.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design, and responsive design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly explain design thinking to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and some experience in Agile methodology projects / sprints / stand ups / roles / scrum etc.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a collaborative mindset.
  • Passionate about design and committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity in your work.

Nice to have:

  • Prior work and familiarity with design trends with clients in industries such as finance, automotive, or technology is advantageous.
  • Previous experience consulting, working as a freelancer or within an agency environment.
  • Front-end development expertise (or at least an understanding of how coding works) so that your designs can be brought to life as they were intended to be.
