Job Description
Your role
The Manager Data Center (MDC) is responsible for managing and overseeing the performance of a data center site(s), ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role involves active management aligned with our four pillars of Operations Strategy: Service Excellence, Infrastructure Excellence, Sustainability, and Governance, risk and compliance. The MDC is accountable for all maintenance, repairs, upgrades, expansion activities, and customer service activities within the sites. Additionally, the MDC monitors all customer service and maintenance activities and provides coaching and instructions to the team.
What you\’ll do
Health & Safety Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management, Environmental, and Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Responsible for all site activities related to Health & Safety and governance compliance, including site induction, permits, and adherence to guidelines (e.g., SOC and ISO).
- Ensure sites and assets are maintained in good condition.
Operational Efficiency and Maintenance:
- Operate the site as energy-efficient as possible in coordination with relevant functions.
- Ensure accurate performance of monitoring and management systems.
- Ensure timely, efficient, high-quality execution of maintenance and customer service tasks, including corrective and preventive maintenance, remote services, customer inquiries, and audits.
- Oversee alarm monitoring and management of site assets during office hours with ICT support.
- Manage team productivity and resource capacity through planning and prioritization.
People Management:
- Manage team members, including training, coaching, and development.
- Manage site group budget for tidiness and workability.
- Approve capacity requests for power, space, and cooling, providing feasibility solutions and alternative proposals as needed.
- Review and approve installation works from Implementation services and Projects.
Incident Management and Documentation:
- Manage incidents to prevent disruption and ensure SLA compliance, including problem management.
- Maintain up-to-date site documentation.
- Develop and maintain a Multi-Year Site Plan with scheduled maintenance, asset assessments, and replacements.
- Contribute to planning and budgeting processes within Service Operations and other functions.
What you\’ll need
- 5-10 years of experience in mission-critical mechanical & electrical environments, preferably in IT/Telecom.
- 3+ years managing a team of direct and indirect reports.
- Proven experience in facilities management and maintenance governance.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure and standards.
- Experience in Data Centers or similar environments is advantageous.
- Experience with maintenance management systems and ITIL/ServiceNow is a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- High energy, committed, adaptable, and proactive with good prioritization skills.
