Overview
Your role is the Global DE&C Data & Analytics Manager, essential in upholding data-driven excellence across global construction projects. You will develop and execute a comprehensive global data management and analytics strategy, including data quality assurance across ERP systems, consolidation of information sources, advanced analytics, and executive-level reporting. You will enable teams to transform raw data into actionable insights to support informed decision-making at global, portfolio, regional, and subregional levels. You will champion innovation in data practices and align analytical ways of working globally to ensure efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Global Data Strategy & Governance: Define and execute a global data management and analytics strategy for DE&C; establish a clear vision for data usage to drive decisions across construction projects.
- Data Governance: Create and enforce global data governance standards, policies, and best practices to ensure data consistency, quality, and integrity across systems and regions; set guidelines for data usage, security, and sharing with regulatory compliance.
- Standardization: Define and maintain data taxonomies, templates, and definitions to standardize information across projects and regions; ensure adherence to common data definitions and metrics.
- Policy and Best Practice Leadership: Establish and propagate best practices in data handling and analytics; refine the governance framework to adapt to new tools and business needs.
- Workflow Improvement: Analyze data-related workflows, identify inefficiencies, and redesign processes to be streamlined and user-friendly.
- ROI and Value Tracking: Assess and communicate the business impact of data initiatives; track efficiency gains or cost savings from analytics improvements and justify further investment.
- Documentation and Knowledge Management: Document data processes, models, and insights; maintain a repository to support auditability and knowledge transfer.
- Data Integration, Quality Management, and Consolidation: Oversee consolidation of data from diverse sources and ERP systems into a central repository; ensure seamless integration across business units for a holistic view of project performance.
- Data Cleaning and Quality Control: Lead data cleaning, harmonization, and quality improvement; implement validation checks and automate where possible.
- Single Source of Truth: Work toward a central data architecture to centralize information for global stakeholders.
- Tool and System Optimization: Collaborate with IT to improve data pipelines and select tools for data management, including data warehouses and ETL; deploy data governance tools documenting sources, lineage, and definitions.
- Reporting, Performance Tracking, and Data Insights: Apply advanced analytics and AI integration to extract insights; design executive dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI preferred) to monitor KPIs such as cost, schedule, risk, and resource utilization.
- Insight Communication: Synthesize data into concise presentations and commentary for executives and project teams; tell the story behind the numbers.
- Global and Regional Analysis: Provide analytics at global and regional levels; enable comparisons across regions and projects to identify best performers and outliers.
- Continuous Improvement of Reporting: Refine tools and processes; automate recurring reports and enable real-time data where possible.
- Performance Tracking: Define and monitor operational KPIs related to project controls and execution; provide regular updates to drive accountability.
- Digital Tooling and Innovation in Analytics: Act as in-house expert on Power BI and similar tools; champion self-service analytics and train team members; stay updated on emerging technologies and automation opportunities.
- Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement, and Support: Engage with Project Controls, Regional DE&C teams, Finance, IT, Operations, and other stakeholders; train and support data literacy; lead by influence in a matrix organization; facilitate knowledge sharing across regions; participate in planning and strategy discussions to ensure data is at the table.
- What You’ll Need: Strong experience in data analytics, data science, or BI with exposure to construction or infrastructure projects; data integration experience across ERPs and project management/financial systems; advanced Power BI proficiency; experience with SQL, Excel, and optionally Python/R; familiarity with AI/ML concepts and automation; ability to operate in a global, matrix organization; solid understanding of project controls fundamentals.
