The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
Sitting within the wider Global Design, Engineering & Construction (DE&C) function, the Global DE&C Connectivity Manager supports connectivity design of Digital Realty's campuses. This includes all Outside Plant (OSP), Inside Plant (ISP) pathway and Point of Presence (POP) designs. They design, approve and direct Digital Realty issued OSP/ISP/POP designs on assigned projects cross-regionally, working with the local Design Managers and 3rd party consultants to implement these designs and standards. This individual participates in the full lifecycle of a project.
Responsibilities & Duties would include:
- Ensure the telecommunication requirements of our customers are delivered
- Responds to design escalations from the team
- Ensure that telecommunication design solutions do not jeopardise safety and quality standards
- Create and audit designs to identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, missing information and tracks close-out
- Ensures that the latest telecommunication innovation/technologies are available and communicated throughout the team
- Continually lives and promotes Digital Realty's core values
- Attends all necessary internal reporting/steering meetings
What you'll need:
Essential knowledge would include:
- Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD or Microstation). Must be able to create schematics, detailed design drawings and work with issued Architectural and Civil/Site drawings
- A minimum of 5-8 years data center or telecommunication construction and design experience
- Telecom Construction, Fiber Installation & Testing and Central Office experience required
- A thorough understanding of ANSI, BICSI, TIA 942 elements of design
- Previous involvement in the delivery of multiple large developments
- Familiarity of gating processes/change control within an Owner Operator development organisation
- An awareness of both Consultant and Contractor appointment contractual obligations
- Confidence explaining and defending design decisions to Customers and Contractors
