About the role

As a

Design Engineer , you will support the design and delivery of customer solutions across our data centre portfolio.

You will be responsible for creating technical designs, managing capacity and infrastructure records, and collaborating with commercial and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are translated into scalable, reliable and efficient data centre solutions.

What you will do

  • Produce technical designs, engineering drawings and supporting documentation for customer deployments and infrastructure projects across designated data centres.
  • Assess available power, cooling and space capacity to support new customer opportunities and growth requirements.
  • Create Auto CAD layouts, rack elevations, floor plans, Bills of Materials and technical handover documentation for installation activities.
  • Support customer lifecycle activities including new deployments, upgrades, reconfigurations and decommissioning projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of space, power, connectivity and infrastructure assets using DCIM and inventory management systems.
  • Work closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Capacity Planning, Operations and Project teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, operational requirements and data centre best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, audits and capacity management activities across the data centre portfolio.
  • What you will bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience working within data centres, critical environments, telecommunications or similar infrastructure-focused industries.
  • Strong Auto CAD experience and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation.
  • Understanding of power, cooling, space planning and capacity management within a technical environment.
  • Experience with DCIM, asset management or infrastructure monitoring platforms would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
