The Solution Engineer (f/m/d) supports technical design activities for commercial opportunities, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure seamless solution delivery. Acting as the technical face of Digital Realty, they align solutions with customer needs while identifying opportunities for upselling and strategic value.
Support Enterprise Accounts teams with technical sales and solutions across EMEA. Lead prospect engagements, including site tours, pre-sales calls, proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations. Identify, document, and design solutions for customer technical needs in critical infrastructure and fit-out. Act as a regional Subject Matter Expert, ensuring consistency in multi-site solution design and pricing. Collaborate with internal teams to align solutions with standards and customer requirements. Assist in RFI/RFP responses, forecasting, pipeline analysis, and market insights. Conduct site tours, customer workshops, and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in the data center industry or in a related field, preferably with interconnectivity, networks and AI infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in data center design, critical infrastructure management, and operations.
- Background in electrical, mechanical, network, or building services engineering.
- Prior management experience is essential.
- Experience in a sales support environment and project management is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across all levels.
- Ability to present complex technical solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills to translate customer needs into deliverable requirements.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, AutoCAD, Visio, or other drawing-based software.
- CDCDP, ATD, CCNA or similar certifications are highly appreciated.
- ITIL Expert or PM certification (desirable but not required).
