Your role
The Site Engineer I (Day Engineer) core responsibility is to perform infrastructure related activities in our Data Centers to ensure a reliable and efficient operation of the technical infrastructure. This is achieved through maintenance, testing and surveillance of all assets installed. The Site Engineer I role is critical to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and deliver client satisfaction.
What you’ll do
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies, operational efficiency, and core values.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Assist in maintenance and repair tasks as directed by senior engineers or Site Operations Management.
- Participate in on-call duties and incident management when required.
- Support and collaborate with other engineers under the guidance of Site Management.
- Maintain proficiency in essential technical skills, such as troubleshooting, maintenance and systems.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge through practical experience and training opportunities.
- Ensuring site overall appearance and cleanliness; escalate shortfalls where necessary.
- Ensures that all work is carried out within a 'safe system' and approved work processes, risk assessment and specified work procedures, complying with best practice standards and legal requirements.
What you’ll need
Hard Skills
- Some experience of site operations in a critical environment and maintenance of large scale electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems.
- City & Guilds level 2 electrical qualification, or equivalent.
- Preferably skilled, but at minimum novice in operation and maintenance of electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems.
- Fire detection maintenance and suppression systems knowledge will be preferable.
- Some knowledge of technical security systems (CCTV, Access Control).
- HVAC Mechanical and/or Electrical will be preferable.
Soft Skills
- Having problem analysis skills.
- Pro-active with a Customer and Business focused.
- Has attention to detail and having a ‘Hands-on’ mentality.
- Customer centricity and natural drive to work with other areas of the business to provide the customer with the best possible outcome.
