Your role involves ensuring the effective management of all campus compliance and energy objectives through managing energy/sustainability projects in conjunction with other stakeholders, identifying and delivering opportunities for compliance improvements. The role works closely with the site management teams, UK H&S, and the UK Energy and Sustainability Manager.
What you'll do:
- Manage site-level energy and compliance related projects and report on progress to the UK Project Management Office if required.
- Support Manager Engineering Operations (MEO) in tracking the lifecycle of engineering assets, provide input to the budget-setting process and manage the replacement of end-of-life assets and components ensuring energy reduction at the heart of all projects.
- Identify energy-saving opportunities throughout the site, and work with external energy consultants to develop, propose and implement solutions.
- Work with customers and Digital Realty stakeholders to reduce PUE through control strategy modifications.
- Collate and review power usage and climate data for monthly reporting and billing purposes.
- Co-ordinate and provide all necessary information as well as host internal and external audits including ISO, SOC2 and PCI.
- Manage Assurity Health & Safety audits and closure of any actions raised.
- Regularly check in with the UK H&S team and track any outstanding items raised.
- Complete Site Safety Snapshot in accordance with company procedure.
- Regularly audit site logbooks to ensure they are up-to-date and correct.
- Manage power distribution ensuring even distribution across UPS’s where possible.
- Ensure all site compliance documentation/paperwork is up to date.
- Responsible for closure of site(s) Action Bulletins.
What you'll need:
- Thorough experience in Data Centre Operations and critical environments.
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems, UPS, Generators, Electrical & Cooling infrastructure.
- Able to calculate PUE and understand its relevance.
- Able to understand and interpret technical drawings and technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of IT.
- Good knowledge of health & safety.
- Understanding of Data Centre Customer expectations.
- Awareness of ISO, SOC and PCI accreditations and requirements.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Customer-focused.
