This Senior Archivist has day-to-day operational responsibility for the workflow of data for The National Archives' catalogue and leads our work on archival descriptive standards. You will be involved in all aspects of our cataloguing programme and will collaborate with colleagues across The National Archives. In the coming years, the infrastructure and methods for managing the content of our catalogue will change significantly as we update our technology and handle ever-increasing amounts of data about our physical and digital collections. You will play a key role in developing and improving our practices and processes.

You are a qualified or experienced archivist seeking to develop your career in a world-leading institution. You are enthusiastic, organised and have an eye for detail. As an expert cataloguer, you enjoy working with data and thinking creatively to solve problems. You also have experience of managing staff and building strong working relationships that lead towards a common goal.

This is a full-time post. However, requests for part-time working, flexible working and job share will be considered, taking into account at all times the operational needs of the department. A combination of onsite and home working is available and applicants should be able to regularly travel to our Kew site for a minimum of 60% of their work time.
