The Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers a unique environment where Humanities, Languages, and Social Sciences sit alongside the Manchester School of Art and the Manchester Fashion Institute. Student experience is prioritized, with state-of-the-art facilities including digital and technical workshops, studios, and gallery spaces designed to enhance learning and collaboration.

About the role: We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Digital Information and Curatorial Practice with expertise in areas such as library, information management, archive, collections, and/or curating.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and delivering higher education curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in both subject-specific and interdisciplinary contexts. This role requires versatility and the ability to contribute to teams across digital arts and communications disciplines, involving both academic and industry professionals.

The successful applicant will contribute to our programmes in digital collections development, digital asset technologies and platforms, digital rights management, strategic planning, and change management. They will also develop subject specialisms related to information and data curation practices and their significance in digital initiatives.

Furthermore, the candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of current industry trends and be capable of conducting research and delivering programmes that are grounded in the present while exploring future developments. This will enable students to investigate the role of a creative media practitioner at the intersection of technology and innovation.

This role is co-managed across two areas: the iSchool (a section of the Department of Languages, Information and Communications) and the new School of Digital Arts.
