We are seeking a Digital Media Specialists Team Leader to join the BFI's Data and Digital Preservation team at the BFI National Archive in Berkhamsted. The Digital Media Specialists Team Leader will lead and develop a team of Digital Media Specialists to provide a flexible range of technical services and functions to achieve the digital preservation and access activities for BFI National Archive digital audiovisual collections. They will assist with and advise on specifications, quality control and verification processes in collaboration with colleagues, to meet agreed quality standards and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team that provides operational functions necessary to achieve quality control, validation, preservation, transcoding, and access for audiovisual digital content within the Archive.
- Provide technical advice and guidance, and contribute to documentation for all colleagues engaged with digital audiovisual processes within the archive.
- Operate software and hardware relating to digital audiovisual workflows, including workstations, digital preservation and access tools, transcoding and editing software, and data storage peripherals.
- Utilise and assist with the development of a range of automated and manual processes to check and conform digital audiovisual media to agreed quality standards, with attention to digital preservation good practice.
