This is a Fixed Term Contract, Part Time vacancy. The Digital Ingest Conservator role supports the Removable Asset Migration Project (RAMP), a time-limited project to locate, assess, and migrate at-risk digital collections stored on obsolete removable media (USB drives, CDs/DVDs, hard drives, floppy disks, tapes) into the Digital Conservation Studio’s preservation storage and enterprise systems.
The post holder will be expected to carry out the day-to-day operations of RAMP, including locating, cataloguing, and migrating at-risk digital content from obsolete carriers into secure preservation storage. The post holder will ensure accurate documentation of processes, integrity checking of files, and collaboration with curatorial, archival, conservation and technology colleagues.
This role is central to safeguarding the V&A’s digital heritage and preparing the Museum for future digital collecting.
