We are now recruiting for a Digital Collections Specialist based at any of the SMG sites in London, Manchester, York, Bradford or Wroughton with hybrid working available too. This is a full-time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week.

In this exciting new role as Digital Collections Specialist, you will devise and lead good practice acquisition and archiving of SMG’s digital collections and digital corporate records, to ensure their long-term sustainability. As Digital Collections Specialist you will be responsible for leading the surveying of SMG’s digital and audiovisual collections. Working closely with the Digital Preservation Manager, you will contribute to the wider Digital Preservation Programme through the Digital Collecting Project. You will be instrumental in driving the digital collecting programme of activity outlined in SMG’s Collection Development Policy 2021 and Digital Strategy 2022-2024: Reach and Impact, so that the Group’s rich and diverse collection of digital and audiovisual content is acquired, preserved, and made available for future generations.
