This role offers the exciting opportunity to work across the University of Bristol’s Special Collections and Theatre Collection which both hold unique and distinctive archives and rare materials in physical and digital form. You will have a particular focus on digital collections and will work with the Digital Archivist to keep procedures for working with digital archives up to date, to take in new digital collections and to manage existing ones using the library’s digital preservation system (Preservica).

What will you be doing?

  • Providing excellent customer service and support to deliver a high quality and responsive service supporting research, education and public access to archive materials with a particular focus on the management and preservation of digital collections.
  • Ingesting material to the digital preservation system Preservica.
  • Keeping the Digital Asset Register updated.
  • Using Preservica to crawl websites.
  • Assisting with the creation and documentation of digital workflows and procedures.
  • Other activities supporting the overall preservation of digital archive material.
