Full-Time

Department

The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is a world-leading digital repository providing digital data archiving services for UK archaeology and heritage. We are an established component of UKRI’s digital research infrastructure and active in international collaborations, as a leading member of the ARIADNE Research Infrastructure. Established in 1996, we hold the CoreTrustSeal and are the only digital repository to hold Archive Service Accreditation from the National Archives. Our Collections Policy covers all aspects of tangible heritage, and we are developing a new focus on Heritage and Conservation Science. Based at the University of York, we work closely with external partners in Higher Education, the public sector, and the commercial archaeological sector.

Role

This role is created following a successful £14.4m bid to AHRC by a consortium led by ADS to develop and host a Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS). The Communications and Training Assistant will support Dr. Nicky Garland (ADS Training and Communications Manager), the HSDS Training Officer, and the HSDS Service Manager in promoting and providing information about both the ADS and HSDS. Key responsibilities include maintaining the ADS and HSDS websites, generating content for social media, and providing text and images for reports and news stories. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development of training materials, including text and video resources, and assisting in organizing and implementing events.
