Vacancy: Assistant Conservator, Time-Based Media3 November 2022 | London | Fixed Term
OverviewThis is a new opportunity to work as an assistant time-based media conservator. This role is part of a dedicated project to realise the acquisition of a large gift of artworks to Tate. This role will work with the time-based media conservator to deliver the acquisition of new artworks into Tate\’s collection.
Responsibilities
Develop the understanding of individual artworks, their production techniques and technical requirements, as well as risks for preservation.
Examine and process time-based media artworks, documenting artworks and equipment, and working proactively within a team.
Communicate effectively to colleagues and stakeholders; demonstrate effective organisational, time management and planning skills.
QualificationsYou will either hold a recognised qualification in conservation or have equivalent relevant experience for working with time-based media artworks. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their skills associated with time-based media artworks and equipment.
