CLOCKSS seeks a target driven, ambitious Business Development Director to engage with librarians and libraries about digital preservation and to promote CLOCKSS as a strategic partner. You will be responsible for building demand, growing our base of supporters, and for establishing initiatives that secure loyalty within the existing supporter base.
This is an exciting role that will help contribute to the preservation of human knowledge for future generations. Tenacity, ingenuity and excellent relationship development skills are essential as is a single-minded focus on meeting and exceeding targets set.
Part-time in the first instance. We are seeking someone who is self‐employed or otherwise able to work as a contractor. You can be based anywhere in the world so long as you can work effectively with libraries in the Americas.
Responsibilities- Build your own prospect database
- Create campaigns to inform, inspire, and motivate librarians to work with CLOCKSS
- Engage with brand new prospects
- Enhance existing relationships
- Reach out to existing contacts for referrals
- Set‐up and participate in face‐to‐face and virtual conferences and meetings
- Develop and deliver an internal business development tracking and reporting system
- Translate library needs into recommendations of ways to enhance CLOCKSS services
- Be a self‐starter and also collaborate well with the entire CLOCKSS team
