National Library of Scotland is seeking a Video Preservation Technician to join its small, dynamic digitisation team working on an internal project to digitally preserve moving image collections held on video formats, contributing to our ambitious goals of having one third of the Library's holdings available in digital format. This is an exciting and varied role where the right candidate will work closely with other Moving Image Archive staff.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable passion for moving image formats and ability to be self-motivated and organised to deliver the planned work to deadlines. They will also have knowledge of both analogue and digital video equipment and have gained experience of editing moving images using non-linear editing software.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as problem-solving skills. It would be advantageous if experience had previously been gained within a moving image production environment and experience of handling and working with archival material. The Library's plans for the coming years are ambitious. The Video Preservation Technician must contribute to that future with enthusiasm and skill.
