TALES House London is a curated, multi-brand experiential retail space by Bellafricana, located on Oxford Street. The space brings together a rotating selection of African and diaspora brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and creative industries. More than a traditional retail store, TALES House is designed as a storytelling and discovery space where customers engage with products, people, culture, and experiences in an immersive and memorable way. The space combines retail, community, content, and culture to create a unique in-person and digital brand experience. The space operates 7 days a week (approx. 10 am–8 pm) with a small, close-knit team.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Retail Brand Experience & Visual Merchandiser to join our team. This role combines exceptional customer engagement with strong visual merchandising skills to ensure customers enjoy a memorable shopping experience while the store remains visually appealing, organised, and commercially effective. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service, supporting sales growth, maintaining store presentation standards, and creating visually compelling product displays that inspire customers and drive purchases.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, memorable shopping experience while supporting sales targets.
  • Build strong customer relationships and confidently communicate product features, brand stories, and unique selling points.
  • Maintain attractive visual merchandising displays and ensure the store consistently reflects brand standards.
  • Refresh product displays, promotional areas, signage, and merchandising layouts to drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Support stock management, replenishment, inventory accuracy, product tagging, and overall store organisation.
  • Assist with daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, events, activations, and promotional campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively with the Retail Team Lead and wider team while representing TALES House London and Bellafricana professionally at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, visual merchandising, fashion retail, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Experience creating and maintaining product displays and visual merchandising standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Good understanding of retail presentation, product placement, and customer behaviour.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
