Description
The Membership Manager is responsible for managing Digital Jersey’s membership activity and ensuring members receive clear communication, practical support and consistent access to the benefits, services and opportunities available to them. The role serves as a key point of contact for existing and prospective members and is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the membership base. This includes member engagement and onboarding, communications, workspace coordination, membership invoicing support, website updates and contributing to wider Digital Jersey projects and initiatives that support Jersey’s digital sector.
Key Responsibilities
Member Engagement and Community
- Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact for existing and prospective members, including through face-to-face meetings and regular outreach, to understand their business objectives and identify opportunities for support, collaboration and engagement.
- Manage the onboarding of new members and lead the member welcome journey.
- Lead member communications, including creating and curating Member Connect, Digital Jersey’s member newsletter, and keeping members informed about relevant benefits, opportunities and initiatives.
- Help members access and make effective use of their membership benefits and Digital Jersey facilities, including co-working space, desks and offices, meeting rooms, podcast studio facilities, job vacancy and news promotion, sponsorship opportunities and event space.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with members, signposting relevant opportunities for support, collaboration and promotion.
- Lead member-exclusive events, including Member Meetups and Socials, in collaboration with the Events Manager.
- Coordinate and promote member participation in talent initiatives, including mentoring, internships and Trident work experience placements.
Operations and Administration
- Manage day-to-day communications relating to membership and member benefits.
- Coordinate desk and office space onboarding and utilisation.
- Support the Finance Manager with the membership invoicing workflow.
- Keep the Digital Jersey website and MemberSpace up to date using the CMS, including relevant membership and project information.
Projects and Initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across Digital Jersey to support core initiatives and projects, including the TechAwards, STEM Racing, Start & Scale, events and courses.
- Provide ad hoc project management and delivery support to help drive key organisational KPIs and wider Digital Jersey initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Proven experience in customer service, account management, client or stakeholder relations, with the ability to build positive and productive relationships.
- Experience of managing projects or workstreams from start to finish, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear, effective verbal and written communication.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to problem-solve when priorities change or pressure arises.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital workplace systems.
- An interest in economic development, Jersey’s digital sector, digital transformation and emerging technology, including AI.
Desirable
- Experience of using CRM and CMS platforms, such as HubSpot and WordPress.
- Experience of, or familiarity with, invoicing or accounting systems, such as Xero.
