At our site in Shardlow, Derbyshire, we are looking to recruit an Ecotoxicologist within the Terrestrial team. The Ecotoxicologist is responsible for working with a team of Study Directors to deliver high quality services in support of Terrestrial studies to execute strategy for growth and continuous improvement. This role ensures all processes are carried out according to the relevant regulatory standards and are conducted in an efficient and financially effective manner.
Job Responsibilities will include:
- Initiating, directing, monitoring, and reviewing all work within the department.
- Expediting all works to agreed client/company timelines.
- Providing advice and guidance on the scientific, technical, and regulatory conduct of studies, as well as for the interpretation, documentation, and reporting of results.
- Close and regular liaison with the client is of primary importance and will include client visits and attendance of conferences.
- Directing the continuous improvement in the quality of work, reporting, and presentation.
- Ensuring that the training requirements are met.
- Familiarity with current developments in the technical and regulatory aspects of Ecotoxicology.
- Pursuing new technologies and applications of potential benefit to the department and acting as key SME providing clients with advice and guidance on all aspects of Ecotoxicology.

Skills and experience:
- Full understanding of the regulatory requirements and the scientific techniques of Terrestrial Ecotoxicology studies required.
- Experience of client management and technical expertise in the relevant business line.
- Previous experience in a Study Director role or equivalent would be useful but not essential.
- PhD or equivalent, or MSc/BSc degree in an appropriate scientific discipline.
- Experience of a range of techniques/approaches relevant to the department and/or unique expertise for a specific scientific service.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and supervision.
- Skilled data interpretation and report writing experience.
