About Flo

Flo is the world’s #1 health app on a mission to build a better future for female health. Backed by a $200M investment led by General Atlantic, we became the first product of our kind to reach a $1B valuation in 2024. With 6M paid subscribers and the highest-rated experience in the App Store’s health category, we’ve spent 10 years earning trust at scale. Now, we’re building the next generation of digital health – AI-powered, privacy-first, clinically backed – to help our users know their body better.

The job

Medical and scientific credibility is the foundation. It’s the core of who and what Flo is. As a group, these teams engage the medical experts, establish research partnerships, help developers design our intuitive AI tools, check our medical accuracy, and drive medical credibility across the whole platform.

We divide our Medical Advisors into two groups: the User Centric team and the Health team. The User Centric team are content centric, providing a close watch over everything going out to the end user, and advising the wider business - especially product and marketing teams - on what good looks like when it comes to embedding medical credibility and accuracy in our features and materials. Our health team looks after the predictive powers of Flo, working closely with product, engineers and data science to offer a truly powerful predictive experience to the millions of people who trust Flo with their health and wellbeing.

This role sits in the User Centric team. We’re looking for a fully qualified doctor with experience in women’s health, marketing and health tech to join our team. You’ll work alongside seven highly experienced and supportive colleagues, all experts in health-tech and passionate about improving women’s health. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to promoting Flo in a medically accurate and credible way, to millions of women. Our team is collaborative and always happy to share knowledge, making it a great role for someone ready to make a real impact in this field.

Your Experience

  • Must have:
    • Medical Degree.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a clinician.
    • Former experience partnering with or in a marketing team in a health-tech/industry setting.
    • Experience reviewing or creating marketing communications, social media content and user-facing promotional materials.
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English (C2 level or higher in both written and spoken communication).
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience in women’s health—either as a GP with a proven interest in women’s health or as an OBGYN.
    • Understanding of clinical safety, medical governance, and regulatory requirements in digital health products.
    • Demonstrated experience collaborating with software product development teams for consumer technology products, particularly in the development and implementation of health-related digital tools or platforms.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll be responsible for:
    • Ensuring the overall medical accuracy and credibility of Flo’s marketing and social media channels.
    • Performing thorough medical reviews of English-language marketing communications, articles, videos, courses, and other health-related content.
    • Collaborating with a variety of teams across Flo to brainstorm, brief, and review medical marketing comms and content for accuracy and reliability.
    • Working closely with members of the medical team to peer-review concepts and campaigns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the latest medical guidelines.
    • Supporting the development of new onboarding flows by gathering medical research, contributing to onboarding creation.
    • Providing expert input on medical risk assessments where needed and ensuring regulatory compliance of marketing materials in line with healthcare industry standards.
    • Attending team meetings and regular stand-ups with both the medical team and the teams you’ll be supporting.
    • Using tools such as Figma, Jira, Miro, and Google Workspace to manage and deliver your work effectively.
  • You’ll be targeted on:
    • Being the main medical point of contact for marketing at Flo.
    • Bringing new medically appropriate ideas to the marketing teams for consideration for implementation.
    • Aiming for 100% medical accuracy in all comms, collaborating closely with our Medical Experts board when needed and in-house medical team.
    • Working to improve the medical review workflow in the teams you support.

How we work

We’re a mission-led, product-driven team. We move fast, stay focused and take ownership – from brief to build to impact. Debate is encouraged. Decisions are shared. We care about craft, ship with purpose, and always raise the bar. You’ll be working with people who take their work seriously, not themselves. It takes commitment, resilience, and the drive to keep going when things get tough. Because better health outcomes are worth it.

What you’ll get

We support impact with meaningful reward. Here’s what that looks like:

  • Competitive salary and annual reviews.
  • Opportunity to participate in Flo’s performance incentive scheme.
  • Paid holiday, sick leave, and female health leave.
  • Enhanced parental leave and pay for maternity, paternity, same-sex and adoptive parents.
  • Accelerated professional growth through world-changing work and learning support.
  • Flexible office + home working, up to 2 months a year working abroad.
  • 5-week fully paid sabbatical at 5-year Floversary.
  • Flo Premium for friends & family, plus more health, pension and wellbeing perks.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

Our strength is in our differences. At Flo, hiring is based on merit, skill and what you bring to the role – nothing else. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, communities and identities.
