The Job

The Legal & Compliance team at Flo isn’t just about rules; they’re like the company’s navigators, helping Flo grow in the fast-paced world of health tech and AI. You’d be part of a three-person Compliance team, driving key compliance initiatives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a Compliance Counsel who’s proactive, can own projects from start to finish, and partners with product folks to find solutions that are both compliant and smart for the business.

Your role: You’ll be involved from the very beginning, spotting risks, making complex legal stuff easy to understand, and shaping compliance for cool AI tools like Symptom Checkers.

Responsibilities

  • Be involved early in product chats to identify regulatory hurdles and guide the team to good solutions.
  • Turn complicated regulations into super clear guidance for everyone.
  • Integrate compliance into Flo's health and AI products.
  • Lead projects across teams (product, marketing, legal) to keep Flo ahead in compliance.
  • Strengthen Flo's legal positioning in the EU, UK, and US.
  • Own compliance for new products, features, and marketing campaigns related to the Flo app.
  • Advise on wellness device rules, advertising regulations, FDA, MDR, FTC/ASA rules, DSA and DMA regulations, and geo-blocking rules.
  • Strategic partner in product development to anticipate issues and find practical solutions.
  • Work with commercial teams on consumer and competition laws.
  • Help develop and implement the Compliance Program, including AI governance.

Requirements

  • Law degrees (Bachelor's and Master's).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluent English.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, team player who thrives in a startup environment.
  • Able to make quick, informed decisions and manage multiple projects solo.
  • Fast learner able to adapt to new tech and legal challenges.
  • Experience with tech companies or in-house at a software product company.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in consumer law and wellness apps.
  • Experience with AI governance in health tech.
  • Experience with subscription products.
  • Project management skills.
  • Familiarity with agile methods and tools like Jira and Confluence.
